IEEE PES KENYA DEI SUMMIT - POSTER

EVENT SUMMARY:

The IEEE PES Kenya - Diversity Equity & Inclusion Summit (PES KE - DEI Summit) is a dedicated initiative by IEEE PES MMU, PES Kenya and IEEE Strathmore SB alongside AFRICON Energy Ltd, to foster diversity, accessibility, and leadership across its member base. The event is funded by IEEE PES DEI Committee.

This event brings together students, women in power, young professionals, and retirees in a collaborative environment designed to promote gender balance, professional growth, and intergenerational learning. Through keynotes, interactive workshops, and recognition awards, the summit encourages active engagement and highlights the unique contributions of each member. By offering hybrid participation options and prioritizing accessibility, the summit aims to create an inclusive space where all voices contribute to the sustainable and innovative future of the energy sector.

Event/Initiative Purpose:
This PES KE - DEI Summit is a transformative initiative that emphasizes diversity, accessibility, and collaborative leadership within the energy sector. This one-day hybrid event is structured to bring together a wide spectrum of IEEE PES Students and YP Kenya members—students, women in power, young professionals, seasoned engineers, and retirees—in an inclusive environment. Through insightful keynotes, panel discussions, and roundtable sessions, participants will explore topics such as gender balance, intergenerational collaboration, and accessible design in education and the workplace.

Networking opportunities will allow attendees to build meaningful connections across different career stages, while hands-on activities encourage actionable solutions for advancing PES initiatives. By promoting leadership engagement and professional growth, this summit aims to
empower all members to shape an innovative, inclusive, and sustainable future for the energy industry.
