Sponsorship and Technical Activities Progress for IEEE RAS: Partner Collaborations,Upcoming Workshops, and Event Planning
🧑💻 Notes and Decisions
Sponsorship Updates:
1. Meetings with Partners
a. Amine and Tayssir held two meetings with potential partners: We Make
3D and 619 Labs.
b. These startups proposed to collaborate with IEEE RAS for workshops
aimed at a group of around 20 students, focusing on 3D initiation
workshops in collaboration with CIM.
c. These workshops are expected to take place after the first week of
exams, with trainers from both startups providing training to our
members.
2. Partnership with 619 Labs
a. 619 Labs, located in Ghazela, will assist IEEE RAS with PCB (Printed
Circuit Board) workshops and other technical sessions.
b. Next week, 619 Labs representatives will visit the IEEE office, where a
contract will be signed to formalize the collaboration.
c. The agreement includes support from 619 Labs to provide PCBs for
competitions like Eurobot, TSYP Congress, and other events without
financial compensation.
3. Workshop Planning
a. Dates and content for workshops in PC and IoT are still under discussion.
b. Industrial visits are also being arranged, with 619 Labs offering to provide
industry contacts.
4. Ongoing Search for Additional Sponsors
a. The club continues to seek additional sponsors.
b. Rami Troudi, the IEEE RAS Treasurer, has sent emails to potential
sponsors, including Saida and LBM, and we are awaiting their responses.
Technical Activities Updates:
1. Advanced Arduino Sessions
a. The second session of Arduino training will focus on communication
protocols and will be delivered by Mohamed Karim Ben Boubaker and
Ahmed Cherif, both members of the technical team.
2. Collaboration with ECBC
a. Amine spoke with Oussema Jlassi, and they agreed to prepare the
challenge skeleton with Tayssir. The challenge will take place during the
second semester to allow time for fundraising.
3. Internship Opportunities
a. Tayssir confirmed that both We Make 3D, and 619 Labs are willing to
provide internship opportunities for our members, a topic that will be
further discussed with the partners.
4. Project Axis Planning
a. Projects will be prepared during the first semester with brainstorming
sessions, where students can choose projects to work on.
b. Due to logistical issues, the Orange Digital Center may be involved in the
project axis.
c. This year’s projects will be aligned with third-year students' professional
projects and fourth-year students' final project assignments, encouraging
them to integrate their work into their final presentations.
Upcoming Events:
1. NRW and IANS Merger
a. The IEEE INSAT SB board proposed merging NRW and IANS. A decision
will be made during an upcoming meeting with the IEEE INSAT SB, RAS,
and CS chapter boards.
2. Reuse of Previous Competition Maps
a. An idea was proposed to reuse old competition maps, allowing teams to
compete against one another, with one team qualifying for the finals. This
idea may be realized in collaboration with Aerobotix.
3. ENSI Competition (October 13, 2024)
a. Preparations for the ENSI competition include working overnight at INSAT
on Saturday, October 12, to finalize robot testing.
b. The team is discussing logistics, including transportation arrangements.
4. Team Building Activity
a. The format of this year’s team-building event remains undecided.
b. Amine suggested a camping location in Borj Cedria that accommodates
up to 32 people and offers seaside views.
5. RTC Info Session
a. Tayssir will organize an info session about RTC (Robotics and Technology
Conference), potentially on Monday, with poster preparation already in
progress.
Media Strategy Updates:
1. Media Improvements
a. Ines Ben Moussa suggested creating short introductory videos for each
upcoming training session to generate interest.
b. She also proposed conducting a student questionnaire on robotics-
related concepts at INSAT, with a member explaining the correct answers
at the end of the video.
Action Items:
• Amine & Tayssir:
Finalize the partnership agreement with We Make 3D and 619 Labs during their
visit next week.
Coordinate with 619 Labs to confirm dates and content for the PCB and IoT
workshops.
Follow up on internship opportunities with We Make 3D and 619 Labs.
• Rami Troudi (Treasurer):
Follow up with potential sponsors like Saida and LBM for responses regarding
sponsorship requests.
• Mohamed Karim Ben Boubaker & Ahmed Cherif (Technical Team):
Prepare and deliver the second, more advanced Arduino training session
focusing on communication protocols.
• Amine, Tayssir & Oussema Jlassi (ECBC):
Finalize the skeleton for the challenge to be held during the second semester.
Plan fundraising efforts for the challenge.
• Tayssir:
Organize the RTC info session as soon as possible, ideally by Monday, and
ensure the poster is ready.
• All Members:
Begin brainstorming for project ideas aligned with professional student projects
(third-year) and final-year assignments (fourth-year).
• Plan logistics for the ENSI competition, including transportation.
• Further research and propose a camping location for the team-building event
