The Dept. of EEE, NITPY organised A 5 Day Short-Term Course on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Techniques for Engineering Applications-Theory and Practice in association with NITPY IEEE student branch from Feb 26 2024 to March 01 2024. The short term course was inaugurated on Feb 26th 2024 at10.00 AM in the presence of chief guest “Dr.Sishaj P Simon”, Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, NIT Tiruchirappalli, NITPY registrar “Dr. S. Sundaravarathan”, NITPY IEEE branch counsellor “Dr.G. Lakshmi Sudha”, HOD EEE “Dr.G.Koperundevi”. During the inauguration, convenor of the short-term course Dr. A. Venkadesan, welcomed the gathering by presenting saplings to the guests. The co-ordinator of the short-term course Dr. Ram Jethmalani C H explained about the objectives of the course and session details of the course. The keynote session titled “Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning in Decision Making applications” by Dr.Sishaj P Simon followed the inauguration. Along with the participants from various colleges across India, faculty members, staffs, and students of NITPY attended the inauguration and keynote session. Several sessions on AI and ML techniques were delivered experts along with the practical hands-on training using Collab and Matlab in Simulation Laboratory/EEE. The course had an overwhelming response, with 60 registered participants from various institutes across India. The participants were provided with both theory and practical hands-on training sessions. The course material is also provided for a better understanding. The certificate were presented to the participants by Uday Paswan, Executive director- Asset Manager, ONGC Karaikal, in presence of Dr. Usha Natesan, Director In-charge, NITPY, Dr.S.Sundaravarathan, Registrar, NITPY, Dr. G.S. Mahapatra, Dean (R&C), NITPY on March 01 2024.
