Biography:
Dr. Bharathi Kulashekara
Counselor | Psychologist
Dr. Bharathi Kulashekara is a highly experienced counseling psychologist with a distinguished career spanning over 15 years in the fields of psychotherapy, family counseling, and adolescent mental health. She specializes in child and adolescent psychology, pre-marital and post-marital counseling, career guidance, and transactional analysis.
Educational Background
Dr. Kulashekara holds a Master of Science (M.S.) in Counseling and Psychotherapy from Kuvempu University, Shimoga (2006–2008). She was awarded a Ph.D. from the University of Mysore (2012–2016) for her research on the Impact of Transactional Analysis on Parent-Adolescent Conflicts, Aggression, and Depression among Adolescent Students.
Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from J.S.S. College, Chamarajanagar (1986–1989). She further expanded her expertise by obtaining a Diploma in International Montessori Psychology from the Indian Montessori Centre, Bangalore (1997–1998).
Professional Experience
Dr. Kulashekara has been practicing as a counseling psychologist since 2008, offering therapy for individuals, couples, and families. She serves as a consultant family counselor for various hospitals in Mysore and provides career guidance in different educational institutions.
She is also a guest faculty member at the Regional Institute of Education, Mysore and frequently collaborates with NGOs and non-profit organizations such as Child Fund India, Kiriyapushpa, and Vivekananda Youth Movement (V-Lead) to conduct mental health awareness programs.
Additionally, Dr. Kulashekara is an expert in Transactional Analysis (TA) and conducts workshops for universities, academic institutions, and organizations. She has worked as an academic counselor and head of Montessori sections at KENSRI Academy for Excellence, Bangalore (1999–2002).
Research & Contributions
With a keen interest in psychological research, Dr. Kulashekara has contributed significantly to the field of adolescent mental health. Her work emphasizes the role of Transactional Analysis in resolving parent-adolescent conflicts, reducing aggression, and managing depression among young individuals.
Personal Interests
Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. Kulashekara has a deep passion for music, literature, writing, and traveling. These interests reflect her holistic approach to mental well-being and personal growth.

| International womes day-2025 | On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the IEEE Student Branch of MRIT, Mandya, organized a special celebration on 10th March 2025. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Bharathi Kulashekaran, a well-known psychologist, as the Chief Guest.
