Biography:

A Kansas native, David studied at Kansas State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Power Systems. While at Kansas State, David was on the leadership team of Wildcat Wind Power, a team which competes in the Department of Energy’s Collegiate Wind Competition. In this time, David found a passion for renewable energy and gained an interest in solving the challenges associated with the present state of our country’s transmission system. David joined Invenergy full time, at their Chicago headquarters, after gaining internship experience on the more traditional wind, solar, and BESS projects within Invenergy’s energy portfolio. Now on Invenergy’s HVDC Engineering Team, David focuses on the design of the main energy conversion equipment associated with Invenergy’s Grain Belt Express (GBX) HVDC Transmission Project. As the single largest transmission investment in U.S history, GBX will connect four grid regions through an 800 mile, overhead, +/- 600kV, multiterminal HVDC link which traverses Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois.
