Dorota Shortell took over for the founder of Simplexity Product Development in 2010 after working in the company as a sr. mechanical engineer, project manager, and director of the Vancouver office. Simplexity is an engineering design service company that designs products like 3D printers, biotech equipment, wearables, and consumer products. Simplexity has been chosen by some of the world’s most advanced technology companies, including HP, Microsoft, and Illumina as their engineering development partner. Simplexity has offices in Vancouver, WA, San Diego, CA, the San Francisco Bay Area and most recently opened an office in Seattle, WA.

Biography:
During Dorota’s tenure, Simplexity's top-line revenue has more than quadrupled and the company has transitioned from 20 to around 70 employees. In 2017 Simplexity was selected by Inc. Magazine as one of the Best Workplaces in America and by the San Diego Business Journal as one of the top 100 Fastest Growing Companies.
Dorota has almost 20 years of new product development experience and holds a US patent. She graduated top of her class from Loyola Marymount University with a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and earned her master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University. She is a National Science Foundation fellow, Tau Beta Pi Fellow, and Institute for the Advancement of Engineering Fellow. In 2013 she was recognized by the Portland Business Journal as one of the region’s top business leaders as a Forty under 40 Award winner. Recently, she was selected as one of the twelve 2017 Executives to Watch by the Portland Business Journal.
