IEEE PELS day
The PELS DAY – INEP UFSC was an event organized by the IEEE UFSC Student Branch and the IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) Student Chapter, aiming to bring together students, professors, and professionals in the field to share knowledge, build connections, and discuss relevant topics in power electronics and related areas. The event took place at the INEP/UFSC Auditorium on June 11th.
In the morning, the opening talk was delivered by Hector Silveira, who discussed "Well-being and Mental Health in the Life of a Researcher", followed by a remote presentation by Heverton Pereira about SOBRAEP and strategies for indexing the Brazilian Power Electronics Journal. Then, Telles Lazzarin presented his insights on Power Electronics Applied to Wind Systems.
In the afternoon, Denizar Martins gave an overview of the history of Power Electronics in Brazil, followed by Roberto Coelho who shared his academic and professional journey in engineering. Closing the technical agenda, Leandro Becker presented on Embedded Real-Time Systems.
In addition to the technical sessions, the event featured networking moments during coffee breaks. PELS DAY provided a space for learning, exchanging experiences, and strengthening ties between students and the technical-scientific community in power electronics.
