As part of IEEE Education Week, the IEEE AESS Tunisia Chapter proudly hosted a technical session on:

“Introduction to AI in Aerospace: Edge Computer Vision Techniques and Overcoming MLOps Challenges in Space”

We had the pleasure of welcoming Kayoum Djedidi, a passionate researcher and IEEE leader, who shared his expertise in the convergence of AI and aerospace systems. Kayoum, currently a PhD candidate at INRS Montreal and co-founder of OORB, captivated the audience with real-world insights on:

• Edge AI for space-based computer vision

• The complexity of deploying machine learning in orbit

• MLOps strategies adapted to extreme environments

The session attracted 32 Engaged participants, including students, young professionals, and AI enthusiasts, all eager to explore the possibilities of intelligent aerospace technologies.

Kayoum's dynamic presentation and approachable explanations made complex topics accessible and sparked valuable questions and discussions. His journey as an IEEE volunteer also inspired attendees to get involved and make an impact in their own fields.

 It was a successful evening of learning, inspiration, and community,  reinforcing our belief in the power of knowledge sharing to shape the future of aerospace innovation.
