IEEE CASS Student Chapter "Meet the Researcher" Session at Maynooth University - by Prof. Danton Diego Ferreira
Join us for an engaging “Meet the Researcher” session with Prof. Danton Diego Ferreira, visiting from the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), Brazil.
In this informal session, students and staff will have the opportunity to interact with Prof. Ferreira, ask questions about his research and career, and enjoy a casual academic chat. Prof. Ferreira will also give a short talk titled: “Statistical Signal Processing Techniques for Pattern Recognition”.
Registration: IEEE and CASS members as well as non-IEEE members are invited to Register. IEEE members should include their IEEE Membership Number when registering.

Prof. Danton Diego Ferreira
Biography:
Prof. Danton Diego Ferreira holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence. He is a professor at the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), where he serves as the Head of the Department of Automation. His research spans machine learning, pattern recognition, and smart sensor applications in power systems, precision agriculture, and healthcare. He coordinates the Innovation Center for Automation and Artificial Intelligence, and his work emphasizes the development of computationally efficient, low-cost solutions. Prof. Ferreira is also a member of the Architecture and Engineering Chamber of FAPEMIG and serves on the board of the Brazilian Society of Computational Intelligence (SBIC). He has published extensively in international journals and actively contributes as a reviewer and scientific collaborator.
