On August 1st, 2025, the IEEE PES Chapter carried out a technical visit to the IAN-R1 nuclear reactor, located at the CAN headquarters of the Colombian Geological Service in Bogotá, during the session the participants attended an introductory talk covering the principles of nuclear energy, the history and evolution of the IAN-R1 reactor in Colombia, and its applications in scientific research, following the presentation, attendees took part in a guided tour of the facility, where they learned about the reactor’s operation, its safety systems, nuclear fuel management, and radiological safety protocols. |

| The visit allowed students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, clarify doubts about nuclear energy and expand their understanding of the technological potential within the nuclear sector, this was a valuable opportunity to reinforce the chapter’s commitment to advanced technical education and its relationship with leading research institutions in Colombia. |  |
