Oklahoma Gas & Electric Transmission/Distribution Control Centers Tour
OG&E will host a tour of its Transmission and Distribution Control Centers. Attendees will not only gain insights into the daily operation of the electric power grid but also learn about the emerging challenges facing the industry and the new technology, tools, and processes that have been adopted by OG&E to ensure system security and reliability. This event is ideal for those interested in learning about electric power systems.
The tour will be facilitated by Dr. Kevin Ma. Kevin received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in power systems from Arizona State University in 2011. He joined OG&E in 2015 and is currently the manager of grid operations engineering, leading the engineering team that supports both control centers. Prior to that, he worked for ISO New England. Kevin is an IEEE senior member and the chair of IEEE Oklahoma City Section PES/IA Chapter. He is also registered PE and PMP.
The address is 3220 S High Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73129. Guest parking is available near the main building entrance (see the following map). Note: Please bring your official ID (e.g., driver's license) in order to get your guest badge for the tour.
