Site Visit SA Power Networks – Network Innovation Centre
About the Network Innovation Centre:
The SA Power Networks Network Innovation Centre was first established in 2012 in response to disruptive changes that were becoming apparent in the electricity industry, mainly as a result of the progressive introduction of distributed renewable generation within the distribution network. The objective of the centre was to trial and test new energy technologies, and design innovative solutions to integrate them into the grid. The Centre now not only continues to develop these technologies but also is used to inform and educate stakeholders about the impact of new technologies and the strategies needed for South Australia to continue its leading role in the global energy transition. The centre incorporates both network-related technologies (e.g. automated network management programming) and customer-side technologies (e.g. smart house, smart meters, solar and battery installation and control, and electric vehicles).

• Parking is limited onsite – reverse park
where possible
• Additional parking available on nearby side
streets or at the front of the building
• On arrival: Ring the doorbell on the left side
of the sliding door; a team member will greet
you, assist with signing in, and provide a
safety induction.

• The facility may be cooler in winter and
warmer in summer — dress accordingly
• Wear closed, comfortable footwear suitable
for walking inside the warehouse
