STEM Spark – Empowering Young Minds Outreach Program

Event Description

The STEM Spark – Empowering Young Minds Outreach Program was a two-day hands-on outreach workshop conducted at Al-Bayan School for students from Grades 6, 7, and 8, aimed at promoting practical STEM learning. On Day 1, students were introduced to IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE), followed by a hands-on workshop on the basics of electronics, where students built simple electronic circuits. The session concluded with refreshments.

On Day 2, students participated in a hands-on robotics workshop, completing the assembly, coding, and testing of a line-following robot. A short quiz was conducted, followed by a prize distribution ceremony and refreshments.

The successful execution of this outreach was made possible with the strong support of IEEE Lahore Section, which provided continuous guidance and assistance in facilitating the overall outreach activities and grant-related processes.

Impact on Students

The hands-on approach enhanced students’ understanding of electronics and robotics, encouraged problem-solving and teamwork, and sparked curiosity and interest in STEM fields.
