University of Oklahoma Engineering Tour
Always pioneers, the University of Oklahoma was the first university in the United States to offer a degree in engineering physics. In keeping with that tradition, they offer a state-of-the-art engineering computer network for research and instruction. OU was one of the first colleges of engineering to incorporate laptops into the curriculum and to provide wireless Internet in the classrooms. The Gallogly College of Engineering received $52 million in research grants in fiscal year 2024. More than 60 patents have been issued to OU's Gallogly College of Engineering faculty, six of whom were 2024 recipients of the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, one of the NSF's most prestigious awards.
