Hands-on session on “Usage of LaTeX for M.Tech Thesis Writing”
A hands-on session on “Usage of LaTeX for M.Tech Thesis Writing” was conducted by Mrs. Swathi Hatwar H for M.Tech scholars on October 10, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The session aimed to familiarize students with the use of LaTeX for professional and structured thesis documentation.
Mrs. Swathi Hatwar provided an insightful overview of the advantages of using LaTeX over conventional word processors for academic writing. The session included a step-by-step demonstration of creating and formatting a thesis in LaTeX, converting existing Word-based templates such as the cover page, certificate page, and guideline documents into LaTeX format.
During the practical session, participants learned to:

Include PDF and image files within LaTeX documents

Insert tables, equations, and figures effectively

Create chapters, sections, and subsections with automatic numbering

Add headers, footers, and institutional logos

Manage spacing, pagination, and formatting commands for a professional appearance
A total of 46 M. Tech. students actively participated in the workshop and gained valuable practical experience. The participants appreciated the clarity of explanation and the real-time demonstration of LaTeX functionalities.
