Code Olympus — A Mythic Coding Arena Celebrating IEEE Day 2025
As part of IEEE Week 2025 and in celebration of IEEE Day, the IEEE Computer Society Student Chapter in collaboration with the IEEE Student Branch, RIT-B, successfully hosted an exhilarating technical event titled “Code Olympus: Rise. Compete. Conquer.” The event aimed to bring together coding enthusiasts for a fast-paced, team-based challenge that tested their logic, creativity, and coordination in a competitive yet engaging environment.
Held on 16th October 2025 at AB 908A (Apex Block), the event attracted 37 teams (74 participants) from various years of study. The competition unfolded across three rounds of increasing difficulty. The first round, 5×5 Matrix Challenge, presented teams with a grid-based set of tech riddles and coding puzzles to solve within 55 minutes. The second round, Maze of Commands and The Scribe’s Sprint, pushed teams to demonstrate precision and synchronization—one member navigated while the other mapped the route, followed by a typing speed test combining accuracy and efficiency.
The final round, aptly titled “Summit of the Gods – Relay Challenge,” tested communication and strategy as teams alternated between problem-solving quests under strict time limits. Creativity and logical reasoning played key roles in determining who would ascend Olympus.
The event concluded with the crowning of the top three teams — Code Freaky, Attendance Shortage, and Team Tensors — who received cash prizes worth ₹3,250 in total. Code Olympus stood out as a highlight of IEEE Week, exemplifying the IEEE spirit of teamwork, innovation, and excellence in technology.
