Visit to Sub Regional Science Centre, Bagalkot
Introduction:
As part of the IEEE Day 2025 celebrations, the IEEE Student Branch of Basaveshwar Engineering College, Bagalkot (STB35261) in collaboration with BEC-IEEE SIGHT (SBA35261S) and BEC-IEEE ComSoc (SBC35261F) organized an educational visit to the Sub Regional Science Centre, Bagalkot on 15th October 2025. The visit aimed to inspire scientific curiosity, promote experiential learning, and provide students with real-time exposure to science and technology exhibits, marking a meaningful celebration of IEEE Day under its 2025 theme “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow.”
Objectives:
• To commemorate IEEE Day 2025 by engaging students in a field-based scientific learning activity.
• To celebrate the IEEE Day 2025 theme - “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow.”
• To foster interest in science, technology, and innovation through experiential exposure.
• To understand practical demonstrations of scientific principles showcased at the Science Centre.
• To encourage teamwork, observation, and interactive learning among IEEE members and students.
Brief Description:
During the visit, students explored various exhibits at the Science Centre that demonstrated core concepts of physics, electronics, mechanics, and environmental science. Interactive displays and models offered opportunities for hands-on understanding of scientific phenomena. The participants also viewed thematic galleries highlighting space exploration, human anatomy, renewable energy, and communication technologies. The visit provided a platform for students to connect theoretical classroom knowledge with real-world applications, aligning with IEEE’s mission of Advancing Technology for Humanity.
Conclusion:
The visit to the Sub Regional Science Centre was a highly enriching experience for all participants. It successfully combined learning with exploration and strengthened the spirit of innovation among IEEE members. The activity served as a fitting tribute to IEEE Day 2025, promoting curiosity, collaboration, and technological inspiration.
