The IEEE Student Branch of the University of Vocational Technology (UoVT) proudly organized IEEE Day 2025 on Tuesday, 14th October 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the University of Vocational Technology premises. The event was held under the global theme “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow” and brought together more than 100 undergraduates from different departments to celebrate innovation, collaboration, and the global IEEE community spirit.

The primary aim of the event was to create awareness about IEEE, its global contributions, and the benefits of being part of a worldwide professional network of engineers and technologists. It also aimed to strengthen the unity among students while inspiring them to actively participate in IEEE activities and future competitions such as IEEE Xtreme 19.0.

The event officially began at 10.00 AM with registration, followed by the opening ceremony and lighting of the oil lamp to mark the beginning of the celebration. After the welcome speech, the IEEE Day video was presented, showcasing the global significance of the day. The audience was then inspired by Guest Speaker 1, followed by the cake-cutting ceremony and a special speech by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Vocational Technology. The morning session continued with a short entertainment event, a speech by the IEEE Student Branch Counselor, and another guest lecture that further encouraged students to embrace technology and leadership.

After refreshments, participants joined an interactive session, which allowed students to engage, share ideas, and participate in team-building activities. The second half of the program included a session by Guest Speaker 3, followed by the screening of the IEEE Xtreme Ignite video, highlighting the achievements of the student branch. The day’s celebrations continued with certificate distribution for competition winners, sponsor recognition, and volunteer appreciation, acknowledging everyone who contributed to the success of the event.

The final sessions featured a speech by the IEEE Day Ambassador, a group song performance, and a vote of thanks appreciating all sponsors, guests, and participants. The event concluded with a group photo, capturing the memorable moments shared throughout the day.

The Organizing Committee (OC) for IEEE Day 2025 was formed under the IEEE Student Branch of UoVT and consisted of enthusiastic and dedicated student leaders. The committee included the Chairperson, Co-Chairperson, Secretary, and Treasurer, who worked tirelessly to ensure smooth coordination and successful execution of the event. Their teamwork, creativity, and commitment played a vital role in making the celebration a success.

The Food and Beverage Partners of the event contributed immensely by providing refreshments and support, while their logos and banners were displayed during the celebration in appreciation of their partnership.

The IEEE Day 2025 celebration at UoVT was a remarkable success, uniting students from different departments and promoting the IEEE mission of advancing technology for humanity. The day was filled with learning, fun, and inspiration, leaving participants motivated to engage more actively in IEEE initiatives.
