Crafting Renewable Energy Solutions
The workshop commenced with a welcome address by the IEEE Student Branch
coordinators, followed by a brief introduction of the resource person. Mr. Godara began the
session by discussing the current global energy challenges and the urgent need to transition
towards cleaner energy sources. He elaborated on emerging technologies such as solar
photovoltaics, bioenergy, fuel cells, and smart grids.
The session included an interactive discussion on practical implementations and real-life
case studies demonstrating how engineering innovations can shape the future of energy.
Students actively participated and clarified their doubts, showing great enthusiasm
throughout the session.He also explained how MPPT helps us extract the maximum power
from a solar panel by tracking its optimal point.The buck converter then steps down the DC
voltage to a usable level.
The MPPT controller works through this converter to regulate current and voltage efficiently.
Next, the solar inverter converts the DC into AC for our appliances or the grid.
So together, these units make solar energy conversion smooth and efficient.”
After a short lunch break , the students were given a practical session and a hands-on
segment was also conducted, where participants explored basic models and design ideas
for efficient energy systems. The workshop concluded with a Q&A session and vote of
thanks delivered by the IEEE Student Branch representatives.
