Event Description:

The IEEE Student Branch, Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College (AKGEC) successfully organized a Technical Workshop on “From Code to Simulation: A MATLAB Exploration Workshop” on 16th October 2025 to conclude the activities which were being conducted as a part of the IEEE Day-2025 Celebrations.

This workshop was designed and organized with an aim to enhance the technical abilities of ECE 2nd Year ECE students through the better understanding of concepts related to Basics of MATLAB, Applications & Scope of MATLAB in the Industry, Programming Fundamentals, Introduction to Machine Learning with MATLAB along with Hands-on Practice Session.

The concluding session of the workshop was also graced by the presence of IEEE Committee Chair UP Section, Dr. Arun Kumar Singh (Dean Academics & HoD ECE) at REC Kannauj as Chief Guest. The winner students of workshop were awarded with prizes, goodies and certificates by the Chief Guest Dr. Arun Kumar Singh and Dr. Neelesh Kumar Gupta (Professor & HoD, ECE Department, AKGEC).

The event was successfully organized by the IEEE Communication Society Student Chapter Members under the guidance of Dr. Neelesh Kumar Gupta (Professor & HoD, ECE Department / IEEE Branch Counsellor, AKGEC), along with Dr. Naresh Kumar and Dr. Uma Sharma (Faculty Coordinators, IEEE Student Branch).

  • 11:00 AM – 11:15 AM: Introduction & Welcome – Opening remarks by IEEE Student Branch Coordinators and introduction of the workshop objectives.

  • 11:15 AM – 1:00 PM: Technical Sessions – Basics of MATLAB, Applications & Scope in Industry, and Programming Fundamentals with hands-on practice.

  • 1:00 PM – 1:30 PM: Break / Refreshments

  • 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Advanced Session – Introduction to Machine Learning with MATLAB and further hands-on practice.

  • 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM: Interactive Quiz – Engaging quiz session for students based on the workshop content.

  • 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM: Prize & Certificate Distribution – Winners of the quiz and workshop activities were awarded prizes, goodies, and certificates by Chief Guest Dr. Arun Kumar Singh and Dr. Neelesh Kumar Gupta, followed by closing remarks and vote of thanks.
