IEEEXTREME 19.0 : ENSIT X SUP'COM
IEEEXtreme 19.0 Event Report
Introduction
IEEEXtreme is a global 24-hour competitive programming challenge organized annually by IEEE, gathering students and programming enthusiasts from around the world to solve algorithmic problems. For the 19th edition, IEEE ENSIT Student Branch and IEEE ENSIT Computer Society Student Branch, in collaboration with IEEE SUP’COM Student Branch and IEEE SUP’COM Computer Society Student Branch, hosted IEEEXtreme 19.0 on October 24th and 25th at the Higher National Engineering School of Tunis (ENSIT).

Participation and Atmosphere
This edition welcomed around one hundred participants from different IEEE Student Branches. The event not only provided an opportunity to compete, but also to connect, network, and build friendships among students coming from diverse academic environments. The atmosphere throughout the pre-competition activities reflected this sense of community, with participants joining in card games, karaoke sessions, group discussions, and a movie night. By the time the challenge officially began, a strong sense of camaraderie had already formed.

Theme and Immersion
The theme for this year was inspired by the renowned series Breaking Bad. The theme was incorporated into the event’s identity, decorations, and welcoming packs, creating a fully immersive environment that participants genuinely appreciated. One of the highlights of the event was a surprise encrypted challenge, where attendees were tasked with discovering the hidden identity of one of the officers. The challenge sparked enthusiasm, curiosity, and teamwork, and the winner was awarded an IEEE Computer Society hoodie.

Competition Phase
As soon as the countdown for IEEEXtreme began, the participants gathered in the hackathon room, fully focused and ready. Teams coded tirelessly, coordinated strategies, and pushed through the full 24-hour duration with determination and impressive resilience. The atmosphere was one of both friendly competition and mutual support.

Results and Achievement
This year, many of our participants performed exceptionally well, ranking among the top teams in Tunisia and standing out on the international leaderboard. Their achievements reflect not only technical skill, but also consistency, collaboration, and problem-solving under pressure. Their performance is a point of pride for all the organizing student branches.
Conclusion
IEEEXtreme 19.0 was a remarkable success. The collaboration between IEEE ENSIT and IEEE SUP’COM Student Branches was strong and seamless, the atmosphere was engaging, the activities fostered real community, and the participants’ results spoke for themselves. The event was not merely a competition; it was a shared experience of learning, challenge, creativity, and connection — and it stands as one of the most memorable editions yet.
