 SUMMARY

Mission

To introduce participants to FPGA technology and its applications in electronics design, fostering interest in programmable hardware and embedded systems.

Vision

To empower students with practical knowledge of modern digital design techniques and inspire innovation in the field of robotics and automation through FPGA-based systems.

Overview

The FPGA Workshop, organized as a pre-event of Exodium 4.0, was conducted by IEEE RAS SBC GEC Barton Hill on 10th October 2025 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at M312 Classroom. The workshop was led by Mr. Nijo P, Founder of Xylof Technology, Electronics Design Engineer, and former Chairperson of IEEE RAS GECBH. As an alumnus of the college, Mr. Nijo shared his journey and expertise in the field of FPGA-based design and embedded systems.

The session covered key aspects of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), including their architecture, working principles, and applications in modern electronic systems. Participants gained hands-on insights into hardware description languages (HDL) and digital design flow, along with career guidance in hardware design and robotics.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 25 students who actively engaged with the speaker and gained a deeper understanding of reconfigurable computing.

Conclusion

The FPGA Workshop served as an enriching learning experience for all attendees. It successfully bridged the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world applications in digital system design. The event inspired students to explore new avenues in FPGA development, VLSI, and robotics research.
