Materials Simulation for Biosensor Design Using Materials Studio
A Hands-On Workshop titled “Materials Simulation for Biosensor Design Using Materials Studio” was held on Wednesday, 29th October 2025, at Computer Lab 2, Link Road Campus. The session was organized exclusively for Biomedical Engineering students to provide a practical understanding of molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and their application in biosensor design.
The workshop was conducted by Engr. M. Jawad Shafique from SSUET and Engr. Syed Hassan Sarwar from ZU, both experts in the field of computational modeling and biomedical innovation. The session was divided into two main modules:

Module 1: Simulating Molecular Dynamics using FORCITE

Module 2: Analyzing MD Simulation Outcomes for Deeper Insights
Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in hands-on exercises using Materials Studio, gaining valuable exposure to the simulation and analysis processes essential for designing efficient biosensors.
The session effectively bridged theoretical concepts with technological applications, enabling students to explore how computational tools can accelerate innovation in biomedical engineering.
Overall, the workshop was highly informative and interactive, successfully enhancing students’ technical skills and sparking interest in computational biosensor design and molecular simulation techniques.
