IEEE Local Student Paper Contest, Organized by the IEEE Student Branch, Nile University of Nigeria (in collaboration with IEEE R8 SAC)

The IEEE Local Student Paper Contest invites students to develop and present a technical paper that proposes a practical solution to a local challenge. Participants are expected to identify a real-world problem within their community, analyze it from an engineering perspective, and propose a well-reasoned, innovative solution supported by research, data, and technical design principles.

The contest provides an opportunity for students to strengthen their research, technical writing, and presentation skills, while showcasing creativity and problem-solving ability. Submitted papers will be reviewed by a panel of judges, and the top entries will be awarded cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

This event promotes academic excellence, technical engagement, and the use of engineering knowledge to address meaningful issues in the local environment.
