Cyber Session - Arrival'25
The Cyber Session was one of the most insightful and interactive events of ARRIVAL’25, designed to introduce students to the exciting world of cybersecurity and ethical hacking. The session began with a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of cyber defense, network security, and digital forensics. Participants learned about essential topics such as phishing, password protection, encryption, and social engineering, gaining an understanding of the real-world challenges that cybersecurity professionals tackle daily. The mentors demonstrated how digital vulnerabilities can be exploited and the importance of ethical hacking in preventing cyberattacks.
The highlight of the session was a hands-on demonstration involving “catching flags,” where participants solved guided cybersecurity challenges that mimicked real hacking scenarios. These activities provided practical exposure to identifying vulnerabilities, decoding hidden clues, and defending digital systems against potential breaches. The competitive and engaging nature of this exercise kept participants deeply involved throughout the session. The Cyber Session not only strengthened the foundational understanding of cybersecurity but also set the perfect stage for the upcoming event — “Capture the Flag (CTF)” — a thrilling competition where students would apply these very skills in a timed, real-world inspired challenge.
