The Mesh Minds IoT Ideathon was one of the most creative and technically enriching events of ARRIVAL’25. Designed to foster innovation and teamwork, the event encouraged participants to conceptualize and prototype solutions using the Internet of Things (IoT) to address real-world challenges. With the theme centered around intelligent systems and smart connectivity, the Ideathon was divided into structured phases that allowed students to brainstorm, design, and present working IoT-based solutions within a limited timeframe. The event ran for a total duration of 3 hours, featuring active guidance from mentors and a dynamic environment of learning and innovation.

Total Duration: 3 Hours
Phase 1 – Setup & Domain Selection (10 minutes):
• Welcome note and introduction to IoT tools and platforms
• Team formation and domain selection
• Access to the development platform and resource materials

Phase 2 – Development Sprint (110 minutes):
• Parallel hardware and software development on assigned platforms
• Continuous mentor support and technical guidance
• Integration of circuit design and program logic for final testing

Phase 3 – Presentations & Evaluation (60 minutes):
• 5-minute team presentations with live hardware simulations and software demos
• Real-time Q&A with the judging panel
• Evaluation based on innovation, feasibility, and real-world applicability

Important Rules & Regulations:

  1. Team Composition: Each team must consist of exactly 3 members.

  2. Originality: All circuits must be built from scratch in Tinkercad or Wokwi; external downloads were strictly prohibited.

  3. Time Limit: A strict 3-hour development and presentation window with no extensions.

  4. Presentation: A 5-minute live demonstration was mandatory for every team, showcasing their working prototype.

  5. Tools: Only the specified IoT simulation platforms were allowed.

  6. Plagiarism: Any form of copying or duplication led to immediate disqualification.

Domains Offered:

  1. Smart Education Infrastructure

  2. Intelligent Transportation Systems

  3. Precision Agriculture Technology

  4. Defense & Paramilitary Intelligence Systems

  5. Connected Healthcare Systems
