InnoSphere Virtual Summit 3.0-Session 1: Digital Twins
. Session 1: Digital Twins .
As part of the Innosphere Virtual Summit 3.0, our Student Branch Chapter collaborated with two Student Branch Chapters to host a specialized technical workshop on Digital Twins. This session was the first in a three-part series.
In this first session, we provided an exhaustive breakdown of Digital Twin technology, ensuring participants understood both the theoretical architecture and the practical industrial implementation.
Technical Core :
- System Architecture: We explored the multi-dimensional model from the Physical Layer (sensors/data acquisition) to the Virtual Layer (3D modeling/simulation).
- Data Synchronization: We detailed the "Digital Thread" and the use of MQTT and OPC UA protocols for real-time mirroring.
- DT Lifecycle: We differentiated between Digital Twin Prototypes (DTP) for design and Digital Twin Instances (DTI) for live asset monitoring.
- Applications: We analyzed Predictive Maintenance and "What-if" scenario testing to optimize industrial performance without hardware risk.
This joint initiative successfully unified three different student communities for this summit, allowing a high-level knowledge exchange and maximizing our reach within the IEEE network.
