Workshop on Biomedical Signal Processing and Research Opportunities
The Workshop on Biomedical Signal Processing and Research Opportunities was successfully organized by the IEEE EMBS CUET Student Branch Chapter, IEEE CUET Student Branch, and IEEE WIE CUET Student Branch Affinity Group, in collaboration with the CUET Biomedical Engineering Society. The workshop was held on 28 October 2025 at 5:00 PM at Academic Building-3, Room No. 3108, CUET.
The session featured Md. Zahid Hasan, Research Assistant at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, CUET, as the speaker. The workshop focused on introducing participants to the fundamentals of biomedical signal processing and highlighting current and future research opportunities in this domain.
The speaker provided an overview of biomedical signals such as ECG, EEG, and EMG, followed by discussions on signal acquisition, preprocessing, filtering, and analysis techniques. Practical applications of biomedical signal processing in modern healthcare systems and real-time health monitoring technologies were also discussed. Additionally, the session offered guidance on research pathways, skill development, and emerging trends in biomedical signal processing.
