Smart India Internal Hackathon – 2025
The Smart India Hackathon (SIH) is a flagship initiative by the Government of India, aimed at providing students with a platform to solve pressing real-life challenges through technology and innovation. As a precursor to the national-level SIH event, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) at SREC, in association with the IIC, IEEE Computational Intelligence Society and SREC Student Branch Chapter, organized the Smart India Internal Hackathon – 2025. This internal selection round was designed to identify, mentor, and prepare high potential student teams for national participation, while fostering a culture of research, innovation, and problem-solving within the campus.
Objectives:
1. To foster a culture of innovation and problem-solving among students.
2. To identify and mentor teams for the national-level Smart India Hackathon.
3. To promote interdisciplinary collaboration and application of data science in real-world challenges
Event Overview:
1. Participation: 15+ interdisciplinary teams (each with 6 students (Girls & Boys) showcased their innovative solutions across domains such as
agriculture, healthcare, smart education, environment, and cybersecurity.
2. Problem Statements: Teams worked on real-time problem statements aligned with government and industry needs, emphasizing practical application of data science and AI.
