Industrial Visit to U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), ISRO, Bengaluru
Celebrating World Space Week 2025

The IEEE Computer Society Student Chapter, Department of Information Science and Engineering, JNN College of Engineering, Shivamogga successfully organized an Industrial Visit to the U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Bengaluru on 4th October 2025.

The primary objective of the visit was to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications in space and satellite technology. The program provided students with first-hand exposure to satellite design, development, integration, and testing processes followed at one of India’s premier space research centres.

During the visit, students attended insightful technical sessions on satellite antennas, orbit prediction, and satellite communication systems. The participants also witnessed live demonstrations of satellite manufacturing, environmental testing, and quality assurance procedures essential for successful space missions.

The visit coincided with World Space Week 2025, offering students a unique opportunity to interact with eminent scientists and experts. Expert talks on “Space and Entrepreneurship” and “Astronomy as a Driver of Technology and Inspiration” motivated students to explore careers in space research, higher studies, and innovation-driven entrepreneurship.

Overall, the industrial visit served as an enriching educational experience that enhanced technical knowledge, inspired curiosity, and strengthened students’ understanding of India’s growing contributions to space science and technology.
