Call for Papers – Special Session on Efficient, Green & Decentralized AI | IEEE ICCSIC 2026
Dear CEDA members,
We are pleased to invite you to submit your research work to the Special Session on Efficient, Green, and Decentralized Artificial Intelligence (EGDAI), to be held as part of IEEE ICCSIC 2026.
The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence has enabled remarkable progress across science, industry, and society. However, the prevailing paradigm of large-scale, centralized, and computationally intensive AI models raises critical challenges, including high energy consumption, increased latency, data privacy concerns, and significant infrastructure costs. These issues hinder the sustainable and large-scale deployment of AI, particularly in real-world and resource-constrained environments.
This special session aims to explore the next generation of AI systems that address these challenges by focusing on the convergence of three major trends:

Efficiency: doing more with fewer computational and data resources

Green AI: environmentally sustainable and energy-aware AI solutions

Decentralization: edge intelligence, federated learning, blockchain-based AI, and distributed systems
We welcome original research papers, case studies, and practical applications related (but not limited) to:

Efficient and lightweight AI models

Energy-aware and sustainable AI systems

Edge AI and federated learning
-
Decentralized and privacy-preserving AI

Blockchain-enabled AI systems

Applications in smart cities, healthcare, industrial IoT, and environmental monitoring
