Professional Mentorship & Networking Mixer
Join IEEE FUTMINNA Women in Engineering for an interactive mentorship and networking mixer connecting female engineering students with professionals from industry and academia.
On 11 April 2025, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group will host a Professional Mentorship & Networking Mixer for Women in Engineering at FUTMINNA. The event will bring together female engineering students and early‑career engineers with invited industry and academic professionals for an engaging morning of mentorship, open conversation, and networking. Participants will hear an inspirational talk from a woman engineer sharing her career journey, challenges, and lessons learned, followed by rotating small‑group mentoring discussions on topics such as entering the workforce, leadership and confidence, work–life balance, and navigating bias in STEM fields. The mixer format will allow attendees to interact with multiple mentors, ask questions in a relaxed setting, and start building long‑term professional connections and potential mentoring relationships, in line with IEEE mentoring best practices. Light refreshments will be provided, and all genders are welcome to attend, with a special focus on supporting and empowering women in engineering within our Section and university community.

11:45 – 12:05 – Open Q&A and sharing of key takeaways from mentors and participants

12:30 – 13:00 – Closing remarks and appreciation of mentors and partners
This event is organized by the IEEE FUTMINNA WIE in collaboration with the IEEE FUTMINNA Student Branch. Registration via vTools is required, and an attendance list will be collected for reporting and certificates of participation
