Join us for a visit to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Metro Integrated Command Center (MICC) in Washington, DC. This immersive experience will give students a firsthand look at how Metro manages real-time rail operations, safety coordination, and system-wide decision-making for one of the nation’s busiest public transit networks. The visit includes a guided tour of the MICC, where participants will learn how train movements are monitored and coordinated across the region. Following the tour, two young Metro professionals will share insights into their roles, career paths, and the technical and operational challenges of running a major metropolitan transit system, followed by a Q&A session with GWU students. This event is a unique opportunity to explore careers in transportation, engineering, and public infrastructure while gaining a deeper understanding of the systems that keep Washington, DC moving.
