The Web Event was one of the most practical and creativity-driven competitions of R&D 2026. Designed to evaluate participants’ web development skills, the event challenged students to design and develop a complete website for IEEE within a limited time frame of two hours.
The objective of the competition was to assess participants’ ability to combine technical knowledge with aesthetic design principles while working under time constraints.
Event Structure
Participants were given a duration of 2 hours to conceptualize and build a responsive and functional website representing IEEE. The website was expected to reflect:
• IEEE’s mission and vision
• Event highlights and activities
• Member registration or contact section
• Clean and professional layout
Participants were allowed to use standard web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant frameworks. The focus was not only on coding functionality but also on presentation and user experience.
Evaluation Criteria
The submissions were evaluated based on the following parameters:
• Design aesthetics and visual appeal
• Responsiveness across devices
• Content structure and clarity
• Technical implementation and functionality
• Innovation and creativity
Judges carefully examined how effectively participants integrated design elements with structured coding practices to create an engaging and professional website.
The Web Event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students demonstrating strong frontend development skills and creative layouts. Many teams incorporated responsive designs, interactive navigation bars, and structured content sections within the limited time frame.
The competition successfully highlighted the importance of web technologies in modern digital platforms and encouraged participants to strengthen their development and UI/UX skills. The event proved to be both competitive and educational, making it a significant highlight of R&D 2026.
