Scientific research and innovation play a vital role in the development of nations. In Burkina Faso, national development policies place strong emphasis on the promotion of research and innovation as key drivers for generating endogenous solutions and addressing local challenges affecting communities. In this regard, doctoral schools have been established in universities across a wide range of disciplines, including exact sciences, social sciences, law, economics, and health sciences. Promoting research and innovation also requires the effective dissemination of research findings to the global scientific community through publications in peer-reviewed journals, oral communications, and poster presentations at national and international conferences.

However, scientific publications in high-impact conferences and journals are still largely dominated by major universities in developed countries, large technology corporations, and senior researchers. Contributions from young researchers, particularly doctoral students and early-career professionals, remain limited. In the specific context of international conferences organized under the auspices of the IEEE Burkina Faso Subsection, many submitted papers address original and highly relevant topics, yet a significant number do not fully meet international editorial and scientific writing standards. This situation is especially concerning at a time when some of the most promising innovations are emerging from young researchers working in rapidly evolving and transformative fields.

In recognition of this challenge, the IEEE Burkina Faso Subsection has included a capacity-building program in scientific article writing in its annual activity plan. This initiative is intended for doctoral students from public and private universities in Burkina Faso, as well as for researchers and innovation professionals. The program is being implemented in collaboration with the Doctoral Schools of Science and Technology of universities in Burkina Faso.

Before the workshop, an introductory presentation will be organized to raise awareness about the IEEE, its fields of activity, and to encourage wider membership.
