The IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Student Branch at SDMIT is organizing an expert talk titled “Empowering Future Engineers” to inspire and guide students in their academic and professional journeys. The program aims to provide valuable insights into higher education opportunities abroad and the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between personal well-being and career growth.
The event will feature two engaging sessions by distinguished speakers. Session 1, titled “Engineering Beyond Borders: Pathways to Higher Education in Japan,” will be delivered by Dr. Pooja Kenchetty, Ph.D. in Nanoelectronics from Ritsumeikan University, Japan. A former MEXT Scholar (2017–2020), Dr. Kenchetty is the Founder of Beyond Borders Scholar Lab and Program Director of the ARISE Indo–Japan Exchange Program. In this session, she will share her experiences and guide students on pursuing higher education in Japan, scholarship opportunities, and strategies for building a successful global academic career.
Session 2, titled “Balancing Mind and Career,” will be conducted by Ms. Sindhu V, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at SDM PG College, Ujire. This session will focus on the importance of mental well-being, stress management, and maintaining a healthy balance between academic responsibilities and personal life, which are essential for long-term professional success.
The program will be held on 11th April 2026 at the Seminar Hall, SDMIT, and is open to students interested in exploring international education opportunities and developing a balanced approach to career growth.
