Arcane - Nexus of Innovations
Arcane - Nexus of Innovations
*Arcane – Nexus of Innovations*
*Arcane – Nexus of Innovations* is an immersive, multi-phase technical competition designed to test participants’ analytical thinking, collaboration, and adaptability in a high-pressure environment. Inspired by two contrasting domains, the event divides participants into specialized roles, encouraging strategic coordination and real-time problem-solving.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
*Event Overview*
Participants are divided into teams and split into two parallel zones inspired by Piltover and Zaun. Each team must collaborate across roles to solve technical challenges, decode information, and adapt to dynamic scenarios under time pressure. Based on the assigned city, teams will face distinct problem environments and challenges that reflect the nature of their domain.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
*Team Structure*
Each team consists of 4 members:
• 2 Explorers
• 2 Insiders
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
*Initial Setup*
• Total teams: Example 20 teams
• 10 teams → Piltover
• 10 teams → Zaun
Each zone operates in parallel, with unique problem statements tailored to the characteristics of the respective city.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
*Round Flow*
*Phase 1: Exploration & Discovery*
Explorers from each team receive:
• A sealed envelope containing a roadmap/clue trail
*Tasks:*
• Follow clues to reach designated locations
• Retrieve 3 hidden cards:
• 2 Debugging Challenges (code snippets with errors)
• 1 Fun Task (logic / mini challenge / creative task)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
*Phase 2: Insider Analysis*
Insiders receive:
• A separate encrypted code/problem
Once explorers return:
• Explorers hand over debugging cards
*Task:*
• Combine inputs from explorers and insiders
• Perform collaborative debugging & decoding
• Generate a final answer/output
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
*Phase 3: Problem Statement Unlock*
• Teams submit their decoded answer
• Organizers provide a custom problem statement based on that answer
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
*Phase 4: Solution & Presentation*
Teams must:
• Analyze the problem
• Prepare a PPT-based solution
*Include:*
• Approach
• Logic
• Use-case or implementation idea
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
*Phase 5: Mid Analysis*
While teams are preparing, they are interrupted with dynamic scenario changes such as:
• “What if your system fails under load?”
• “What if data is corrupted?”
• “What if a user exploits your system?”
Teams must:
• Adapt their solution in real time
• Defend their decisions (accounts for 30% of evaluation)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
*Judging Criteria*
• Debugging Accuracy
• Problem-Solving Approach
• Adaptability to Scenario Changes
• Presentation Quality
• Creativity & Innovation
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
*Winning Condition*
The team with the highest cumulative score across all phases is declared the winner.

Agenda
Team Formation & Briefing
Participants are divided into teams of 4 (2 Explorers and 2 Insiders). Event rules, structure, and flow are explained.
Phase 1: Exploration & Discovery
Explorers receive a roadmap with clues and navigate through locations to collect hidden cards, including debugging challenges and a fun task.
Phase 2: Insider Analysis
Insiders work on an encrypted problem. Once Explorers return, teams collaborate to debug, decode, and generate a final output.
Phase 3: Problem Statement Unlock
Teams submit their decoded answer and receive a customized problem statement based on their solution.
Phase 4: Solution Development & Presentation
Teams analyze the problem and prepare a PPT-based solution including approach, logic, and implementation/use-case.
Phase 5: Mid Analysis (Dynamic Round)
Teams are interrupted with real-world scenario changes (e.g., system failure, data corruption, security issues). Teams must adapt their solutions and defend their decisions. (This round carries 30% of the total score.)
Final Evaluation & Results
Teams are judged based on debugging accuracy, problem-solving approach, adaptability, presentation quality, and creativity. Winners are declared based on cumulative performance.
