The WIE LAUTECH Design Workshop 2026: Mastering Design for Innovation & Impact is a one-day capacity-building program aimed at equipping engineering students with essential design skills needed to effectively communicate ideas, build impactful projects, and present innovative solutions.

In today’s technology-driven world, engineers require more than just technical knowledge they must be able to visually communicate concepts, develop user-centered solutions, and present their work in compelling ways. This workshop addresses that gap by introducing participants to design thinking, visual communication, branding, and presentation design.

The session will feature hands-on training using industry-relevant tools such as Canva and Figma, enabling students to create professional flyers, pitch decks, and design prototypes. Participants will also engage in practical exercises that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration.

This initiative is organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) LAUTECH Student Branch to empower students especially women in STEM with relevant digital and design skills that enhance their academic, professional, and entrepreneurial growth.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have gained practical design knowledge, improved their ability to present ideas effectively, and developed skills that contribute to innovation and real-world impact.
