The IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) Student Chapter of QIS College of Engineering and Technology, in collaboration with IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) and IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) Student Chapters, organized an online webinar titled “Data Privacy and Security in IoT Networks” on 02 April 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The session was delivered by Dr. Lakshmi V. S., Chair of IEEE ComSoc Kerala Chapter and Assistant Professor at Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram.

Biography:

Dr. Lakshmi V. S. is an academician, researcher, and Senior Member of IEEE. She currently serves as the Chair of the IEEE Communications Society Kerala Chapter and Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram. She earned her Ph.D. from NIT Calicut, specializing in secure communication and privacy-preserving systems. Her research interests include IoT security, wireless communications, cognitive radio networks, cloud security, and secure data processing.

She is also the Faculty-in-Charge of the Innovation Centre for IoT & Wireless Communication, a multidisciplinary research lab supported by the Government of Kerala. As a leader in IEEE ComSoc Kerala Chapter, she actively contributes to professional engagement, student development, and global technical initiatives.
