Empowering Women in Engineering: Skills, Leadership & Career Development Workshop
The “Empowering Women in Engineering: Skills, Leadership & Career Development Workshop” is an initiative by the IEEE WIE JUST Affinity Group aimed at supporting and inspiring female engineering students to build successful careers in the engineering field.
This workshop is designed to provide participants with essential knowledge, practical skills, and career guidance needed to excel in today’s competitive engineering landscape. The event will focus on four key areas: career planning, CV and resume writing, interview preparation, and the development of critical technical and soft skills required for engineers.
The program will begin with a comprehensive career guideline session, where participants will gain insights into various career paths in engineering, including industry opportunities, higher studies, and research. This will be followed by an interactive session on CV and resume writing, where students will learn how to create professional and impactful resumes and avoid common mistakes.
In the interview skills session, participants will be introduced to common interview techniques, strategies to handle both technical and HR interviews, and methods to build confidence and effective communication skills. Additionally, the session on key skills for engineers will highlight the importance of both technical competencies and soft skills such as leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving.
The workshop will also include an interactive Q&A segment, allowing participants to engage directly with speakers and gain personalized advice. Through this event, IEEE WIE JUST aims to empower female students, enhance their professional readiness, and encourage active participation in engineering careers.
