EmpowHER 2026 is a technical event organized by the IEEE VSSUT Student Branch in collaboration with the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Student Branch Affinity Group. The event is aligned with the IEEE WIE vision of connecting, supporting, and inspiring women worldwide while promoting their recruitment, retention, and advancement in STEM fields.

Scheduled to be held on 22nd August 2026, the event aims to foster technical excellence, innovation, and active participation in the rapidly evolving field of Quantum Computing. As part of the event, a team based quantum innovation hackathon and a Circuit Design Competition will be organized, enabling participants to explore and apply concepts related to one of the most promising technologies of the future.

These competitions will provide students with opportunities to strengthen their technical knowledge, analytical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities through hands-on learning and competitive engagement. The event will encourage participants to collaborate, innovate, and develop practical solutions inspired by emerging advancements in computing and electronics.

The event will also feature an expert talk by an industry professional and IEEE WIE member with extensive experience in emerging technologies and innovation. Through this session, participants will gain valuable insights into the fundamentals, applications, challenges, and future prospects of Quantum Computing, along with emerging industry trends and career opportunities in STEM.

EmpowHER 2026 aims to inspire students to pursue innovation, research, leadership, and excellence in their academic and professional journeys while encouraging greater participation in technology-driven fields.
