The South School of Microelectronics (EMicro) and the South Symposium on Microelectronics (SIM) are regional events jointly organized by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC), the Brazilian Microelectronics Society (SBMicro), and the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Rio Grande do Sul Chapter (IEEE CASS-RS). The events bring together internationally recognized speakers and serve as an important reference for the microelectronics community, playing a significant role in promoting and disseminating advances in the field.

EMicro and SIM are primarily aimed at undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty members, from programs in Computer Science, Informatics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, and related technical courses.

EMicro | SIM 2026 will take place at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), Camobi Campus, in Santa Maria, Brazil, from June 8 to 12, 2026. The program will reflect current topics and interests in circuits and systems, while providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and research results. The events will also feature a broad range of special sessions and keynote lectures delivered by leading experts, covering key research areas in microelectronics.
