2026 Asia-Pacific Conference on Plasma and Terahertz Science
2026 Asia-Pacific Conference on Plasma and Terahertz Science will take place on September 11-13, 2026, in Xi'an,China.
As the Asia-Pacific version of ICOPS designed to foster regional collaboration in plasma and terahertz science, APCOPTS has a rich history of impactful gatherings since its inception.
The 1st Asia-Pacific Conference on Plasma and Terahertz Science (APCOPTS) was organized in Xi'an, China in 2018, which has a strong component on fast emerging terahertz ascience. Held from August 15-18, 2018, this inaugural edition brought together approximately 460 attendees, including 200 students, laying a solid foundation for the conference's future development.
Building on this success, the 2nd APCOPTS was held in Singapore in 2020 in an online format, adapting to global circumstances while maintaining the conference's academic momentum.
The 3rd APCOPTS returned to an in-person format in Busan from August 25-28, 2023, continuing to serve as a key platform for researchers in the region.
Most recently, the 4th APCOPTS was co-organized with the 51st IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science (ICOPS) in Beijing in 2024, achieving remarkable scale: it received over 1,200 paper submissions and welcomed more than 1081 attendees, including over 150 experts focused on terahertz (THz) research.
Co-sponsored by NPSS PSAC and founded by Prof. Verboncoeur, APCOPTS is an international conference held every two years. The 2026 Asia-Pacific Conference on Plasma and Terahertz Science will carry forward this legacy, offering an outstanding forum for scientists and engineers to learn further about some of the greatest advances in plasma science and technology, terahertz science and new exploratory research areas in recent years, and to discuss future directions of research.
