SimuLaunch: Getting Started with Simulink
A beginner-focused, one-hour hands-on session introducing students to MATLAB Simulink — a block-diagram based simulation environment widely used for modeling, simulating, and analyzing dynamic systems in control, power electronics, signal processing, and embedded systems. This session is designed for students with zero prior Simulink experience. By the end of the hour, attendees will have installed Simulink, explored its key toolboxes/libraries, built two simple models from scratch, and understood how Simulink scales up to real project-level work through a walkthrough of an existing mid-level project. The session closes with open Q&A and a list of beginner project ideas attendees can try on their own.
Target audience: First and second-year engineering students (especially EEE/ECE/Mech) with no prior exposure to Simulink.
Prerequisites: Laptop with MATLAB installed (or willingness to install during session), basic familiarity with block diagrams/system concepts is helpful but not mandatory.
