Cornell Engineering ACE Award: Achievement in Communicating Ethics
For Cornell University undergraduates only, onsite. Advanced registration required.
Competition Announcement: For IEEE Ethics week, the Engineering Communications Program at Cornell University is sponsoring a writing competition. Up to 50 engineering undergraduates in Cornell Duffield Engineering will be able to compete for the Engineering ACE Award (Achievement in Communicating Ethics) competition.
This sponsored writing competition will ask participants to do a short engineering ethics reading in advance and then write from a given prompt. Participants will have up to two hours to complete their writing submission during the Sept 18 event. The first 50 undergraduates to sign up will be invited to compete. Once accepted, participants will be provided with more details, including the room, the advance reading, and the rubric by which judges will review the work. Winners will be announced at the end of September.
When: Sept 18, 2026.
This event is supported by these partners: Cornell’s Engineering Communications Program, the The Bovay History and Ethics of Professional Engineering Program, IEEE Ethics Week, IEEE ProComm, and the IEEE Ithaca Section.
Financial sponsors: Cornell’s Engineering Communications Program and the IEEE Ithaca Section.
