· 124 Solana Hills Dr.
· Solana Beach, CA 92075
· Phone: 858.356.9925
Speaker: Dr. David Eldon, Scientist at General Atomics/ DIII-D Tokamak
Topic for Discussion: The Next Generation of Fusion Testing at General Atomics
General Atomics is collaborating with the U.S. Department of Energy to design a first-of-its-kind Blanket Component Test Facility (BCTF), focused on testing full-scale fusion power-plant reactor blankets. To evaluate integrated, full-scale fusion "blanket" systems—the lithium-based material layers that line the inside of a fusion vessel. These components capture energy, transfer heat out of the plasma core, and breed the tritium fuel required to sustain fusion reactions.
We encourage all San Diego IEEE Life Members to attend and to bring along any colleagues or friends who may be interested. This is a great opportunity to network, share ideas, and enjoy delicious food in a friendly setting.
If you have any questions or require further information, please contact the venue or reach out to Bill Torre, 619-417-9410. We look forward to seeing you there!
Virtual meeting access will also be provided, below is a Webex link:
