Cards Of Code
As a part of Tech Mavens, IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) organized “Cards of Code”, an engaging coding competition designed exclusively for 1st-year students. The event aimed to test and enhance participants’ programming skills, logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and decision-making under time constraints. The unique multi-round format combined technical quizzes, competitive programming, and QR-based coding challenges to create an interactive and challenging experience.
Competition Structure
Round 1: Wayground Quiz
The competition commenced with a Wayground-based technical quiz designed to assess participants’ fundamental programming concepts, logical reasoning, and technical knowledge. Based on their performance in this round, the qualifying teams advanced to the next stage of the competition.
Round 2: HackerRank Coding Challenge
The second round was conducted on HackerRank, where participants were required to solve programming problems within a specified time limit. This round focused on testing their coding proficiency, problem-solving approach, logical thinking, and ability to implement efficient solutions.
Round 3: QR-Based Coding Challenge
The final round introduced an interactive QR-based coding challenge. Participants scanned QR codes to access coding problems of varying difficulty levels and were required to solve them within the given time. The round added an element of strategy, quick decision-making, and adaptability, making the competition both technically challenging and engaging.
Through its three-round format, Cards of Code provided students with a platform to apply their programming knowledge in a competitive environment while encouraging collaboration, creativity, logical reasoning, and technical skill development.
