The energy management system (EMS) has been used by power system operators to monitor, control and optimize the generation and/or transmission systems. However, the increasing penetration level of renewable energy, such as wind power, solar power, etc., requests the EMS to incorporate the intermittency characteristics of renewable energy.
The seminar on intelligent power system management has been established to provide members of IEEE in Denmark and other interested parties to get acquainted with the ongoing work on EMS.
The IEEE Power and Energy Danish Chapter has succeeded in getting three professors from Tsinghua University to give a number of presentations on EMS, DMS and automatic voltage control and one presentation from DTU-CET.

The Distinguished Lecturer (DL) covers current and future standards on:

• Future Smart Grid EMS Development.
• Distribution System Automation and Energy Management——Operation Optimization and Self-healing
• Automatic Voltage Control and its Applications in China
• Multi-Agent based Controller for Active Distribution Networks
