Cyber physical systems (CPS) are smart and distributed systems that tightly integrated computing, networks, and physical components. CPS continue evolving to be more computerized, autonomous, and connected, which transitions from isolated control systems to more open architectures. Meanwhile, this transition comes with a series of crucial issues in terms of security. The tight interaction between information technology and the physical world makes CPS vulnerable to malicious attacks that are beyond the traditional cyber attacks. Recent incidents and practical experiments have clearly demonstrated easily exploitable vulnerabilities and new attack surfaces in CPS. In this talk, the speaker will disucss Attack-Resilient Cyber-Physical Systems through briefly introducing his three recent works on on detecting and reacting to sensor attacks using data fusion, autoencoder, and recovery techniques.
