Forecast and evaluation of COVID-19 spreading in USA with reduced-space Gaussian process regression
Tema : Forecast and evaluation of COVID-19 spreading in USA with reduced-space Gaussian process regression

Biography:
Colombian electrical engineer, with experience in international power system project coordination, solid knowledge in analysis of Electrical Systems, Transmission Lines & Generation systems.
I have implemented the Supervisory, Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) for mining, power and distribution systems. My team and I have designed the implementation and operation of RTU ( Remote Terminal Units) and we also have designed power lines and substation protection and control Systems. I have accomplished delivering operational improvements trough teamwork and project management. I am highly committed to creating effective solutions to meet challenging targets, always driven by high efficiency and superior quality.
I also have worked in control and automation systems in Indra Colombia (installation, automation and configuration of equipment in the operations control center for tunnels and highways) and I have worked in international large-scale power transmission projects in Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Spain and Chile, which have been productive from the economic and technical standpoint for the companies where I worked.
I have developed very strong influencing and communication skills. The continuous team's coordination has been essential to my success both externally with clients & partners and internally with the stakeholders. I am motivated by continuous learning and I do believe in creating a continuous improvement culture.
I have worked in researching Dynamics and Operation of Power Systems & I have pertained to Transmission networks group, accredited by COLCIENCIAS, from January 2006 to July 2010.
Education:
Master of Science, concentration Project Management.
Summa Cum Laude - Degree
Bachelor of Science in Electric Engineering, Concentration of Power Systems (2010), National University of Colombia.
Note: Ranked First among the graduates of the academic year 2005 -2010.
Diploma in English University of Illinois 2008 Illinois CHI.

Biography:
Ricardo Arias helps large organizations develop strategies to get on the right side of innovation—for their own sake, and for the sake of their local innovation ecosystems.
Work experience (+ 15 years): Currently, I’m accountable of the operational efficiency in the biggest renewable power plants (BESS, Solar, Wind & Hydro) and innovation projects in Enel. Before, I've been Project Manager in CAM Engie and ISA, project engineer in Engie, coordinator in REP, operation head in ElectroSur, supervisor in Freeport-McMoRan and Yura. I have extensive experience in EPCM energy and mining projects from CAPEX, pre-feasibility, execution, commissioning, operation & maintenance. Summary, I’ve built more than 20 substations in industry and mining, 4500 km of transmission lines and power plants in 3 countries: USA, Peru and Chile. I speak English and Portuguese fluent, it allows me to negotiate contracts and to propose technical aspects in reports at managerial level.
Advanced research: Certificated by CONCYTEC / RENACYT (level III). I lead research in international universities as PUCP, MIT, UTEC, UNSA, in USA, China, Netherlands & Perú with more than 30 international papers.
Education: PhD in engineering, MSc in project Management, MBA and 3 degrees: Electrical engineer concentration power system, Project engineer and Computer Science engineer.
Innovation Awards: 1st place awarded by SNMPE 2017, ISA 2015, CIER 2014. IEEE Senior member 93297585 & PMI 4784958.
